Plastic Media Blasting - Automotive & Collectibles

Plastic media blasting, or PMB as it is often called, strips coatings such as lacquer, enamel, polyurethane, powder coatings, epoxies and decals. These can be safely removed from a number of surfaces including steel, fiberglass, aluminum, plastic, brass, copper, composites and rubber. Indeed, PMB may be rising fast to a position as star performer when it comes to stripping.

Plastic Media Blasting can strip your most precious collectibles without damaging, pitting, bowing or warping.  With PMB even surrounding materials such as glass, chrome or rubber are safe from etching and damage.

Although PMB (Plastic Media Blasting) is quite similar in principle and process to sandblasting, the word "blasting" in plastic media blasting is perhaps a bit too harsh for the process to. In fact, when observing in person, one might get the impression that the paint is being vacuumed off rather than blasted away, due to the much lower air pressures of 20-40 psi used in PMB as opposed to pressures of 60-100 psi used in conventional sandblasting.

At the lower air pressures of PMB, paint can be removed without causing damage to the underlying surface. Even more delicate surfaces like aluminum, and plastic can be sandblasted.
